BACO Style: Italian Editor Simone Marchetti

BACO’s Valentina Accardo caught up with a real Italian fashion icon, whose candor is as endearing as his clothes. Simone Marchetti is the Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the women’s lifestyle section of Italy’s Repubblica.it.

Simone is someone who speaks with his eyes – smiling and intelligent. He also expresses himself through his clothes.  “Style stays while fashion passes away. “It’s like I’m looking for the right words to say what I have in my mind,” he told BACO at Pitti Uomo in Florence. If you are a different person every day, people will approach you and will talk to you differently, he said, noting that he has an affinity for Dolce & Gabbana made to order, Valentino haute couture and Santoni shoes.”When you go there, you realize what made in Italy is.”

Occupation: Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the women’s lifestyle section of Italy’s Repubblica.it.

Age: 41

Location: Milan

The Look: Valentino

Personal Style: “I don’t like the word style. I’m interested in change: I will not be [dressed] in yesterday, nor will I be the one in tomorrow. Fashion forces you change yourself and not to always be the same.”

Never: Tie. Only for official ceremonies and occasions.

Always: Boldness.

What are the upcoming trends for men this Spring?
“Chic is coming back. Stop wearing strong color and prints, no more humor. We need a more soft taste, with pastel color (white, pink, grey). This coming summer our closet musts have: seventies denim, simple sandals (with pedicure)”.

Love the loose tie look. Very relaxed and sophisticated at the same time.
